  1. This is an excellent game idea for married couples. We are coming up on our anniversary in February….. hope the “dares” are ready by then….. God bless you!!

    1. Yes, but we’ve also got kids at home with us 24/7 since the schools are closed, which makes it hard to think of sexy dares :)

      1. We have two college kids back home after beginning to enjoy an empty nest. Mine is different but I can relate.

  2. The way I have played truth-or-dare is that the “truth” is a statement which may or may not be true about someone present (not a question). The dare is also listed. The person whose turn it is chooses whether to play the game; if they decide to play they have to guess whether the “truth” statement is really true or not. If they are right, the game goes to the next person; if they guess wrong, they have to do the dare (which is usually sexual in nature). Before playing they have the choice to pass if they are unwilling to do the dare. The way we played it, you can only pass once in an evening, meaning you could be stuck with an even worse dare.

The idea is not just whether someone is willing to do the dare. It’s also how well they know the person who submitted the “truth” statement and their willingness to take the chance that they will get the right answer. Another element is who they choose to perform the dare with if they lose (typically it can’t be your spouse) in the cases where the dare involves someone else.

I played this game once with three other couples for several hours. We were close friends. Everyone had to submit three “truth” statements, so there were 24 statements altogether. We didn’t do anything grossly immoral but close; the dares I remember include: stripping to underwear and staying that way for five minutes, French-kissing someone of the same sex, giving our underwear to someone of the opposite sex, kissing someone’s toes, choosing someone to spank us over clothes, pulling out a small clump of hair in front of everyone, chugging a large alcoholic drink, choosing someone to lick our face, picking someone to look down our pants and announce the color of our underwear, simulating oral sex on a banana, simulating the sounds of an orgasm (like Sally in When Harry Met Sally), choosing someone to give us a wedgie, telling everyone who in the group we would have sex with if we had to choose someone. Some of the dares turned up more than once. There were more, as we played all 24 rounds, but I don’t remember them. But you get the idea.

I guess you can’t really do it this way because you don’t have a list of true statements — although you could invent some about the two of you, and we would have to guess true or not (and have some way of getting the answer)!
